Rapid fire with Eklavya Dwivedi of Pune Warriors India

Eklavya Dwivedi – One of the young exciting Indian cricketers. Dwivedi impressed by scoring a half century for Uttar Pradesh on debut. Playing for the Pune Warriors India this IPL, we caught up with this young wicket keeper batsman.

Q. PWI has improved a lot from what it was last year.What has been the reason for its success this year?

Eklavya - A more efficient management, perhaps. The coaching staff has groomed us well and it has reflected in the results. The thought process and preparation are the main reasons that we have been doing well in this edition.

Q. How is it for a youngster like you to play under the captaincy of Saurav Ganguly?

Eklavya - It’s a huge honor to share the dressing room with a legend like him. One knows he always helps young players and so ss and when I get the chance , I try to learn from him by interacting with him. He is one of the best captain India has ever had and whether inside or outside the field, he helps you learn a lot about cricket.

Q. How important is IPL for young players like you?

Eklavya - Its a brilliant platform for youngsters to showcase their talent and rub shoulders with International stars. We get to play against the best in the business which enriches our own game. And also at the same time provides financial stability to all the players.

Q. You are still to play in a game. Does it get a little frustrating?

Eklavya - No, it’s not really that frustrating when the teams doing well . Of course, you want to go out there and play but one has to wait when you have such great players in your side. I just keep working hard and wait for my opportunity. But as long as the team wins, I am happy.

Q. How supportive are the team owners?

Eklavya - Very supportive! It goes without saying that the Pune owners really take care of you . They want to give us the best chance of winning , so they have to be supportive, especially, to the youngsters like me.

Q. What is your ultimate aim as a Cricketer?

Eklavya - The dream of every cricketer is to represent their country at the highest level. I also hope to represent India and win matches for it.
