Saeed Ajmal accuses Harbhajan Singh of chucking

Ajmal said that Bhajji disregarded ICC rules

Pakistani spinner Saeed Ajmal has raised eyebrows with his comments suggesting that Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh was a ‘chucker’ and disregarded ICC rules of bowling, reports ZEE News. Ajmal dropped the bomb while speaking in an interview with a local reporter.

Ajmal went on to say that Bhajji’s action was definitely not under 15 degrees, which was the permissible limit set by the ICC. He also expressed frustration about the rule of ‘illegal action’ being applied to only Pakistani players and said that the PCB did not bother to complain about Harbhajan’s action.

The 38-year old who is the leading wicket-taker for his country with 178 Test, 184 ODI and 85 T20I wickets, was banned from bowling since September last year, as his action was termed illegal. Since then, Ajmal has struggled to get back in the scheme of things for Pakistan and has constantly been sidelined by the selectors.

The Faisalabad-born cricketer also blasted the ICC for their pro-BCCI attitude and blamed the international governing body at sidelining only Pakistani cricketers for illegal actions and turning a blind-eye towards Indian spinners. “I’m highly disappointed over why PCB did not fight my case on medical basis, had they chose for it, it would have been a rather different story,” he felt.

The spinner however, has not lost hope about making his comeback in the national side and said that he would continue to play domestic cricket, thus brushing off rumors about his retirement. "I have not decided to retire as yet and I will play the domestic season and see how it goes," he added.
