Video: Virat Kohli wishes Happy Diwali

Indian Test cricket captain Virat Kohli has wished everyone a Happy Diwali

Diwali – the festival of lights – is celebrated in India with a lot of pomp and glory. The festival signifies the victory of good over evil. Indian Test cricket captain Virat Kohli took time out from his busy schedule to wish a "Happy Diwali" to Indians everywhere.

In the video posted on the Indian Cricket Team's official Facebook page, Kohli wishes “happiness, prosperity, and calmness” to all Indian homes on the occasion of the most popular festival in India.

After winning the first Test in Mohali, Kohli will be hoping for the same from his players as the second Test is scheduled to start on November 14 at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

South Africa lost their first away Test match in nine years, as the Indian spinners gave the hosts a convincing 108-run victory. Ravindra Jadeja scripted a perfect comeback to Test match cricket as he picked up eight wickets in the match to earn the man of the match award.

The Proteas will miss the services of pace bowler Dale Steyn, who is suffering from a groin injury. However, the visitors will be boosted by the return of fast bowler Morne Morkel and all-rounder JP Duminy. Captain Hashim Amla will be hoping for a better performance from his players in the forthcoming Test.

Indian captain Kohli plays for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), and will certainly feel at home for the second Test match against South Africa. However, the Number 2 Test batsman in the world, AB de Villiers also plies his trade in the IPL for RCB and will look to continue his good form on Indian soil.

Either way, cricket fans are set to be treated to a cracking contest in Bengaluru with India looking to take an unassailable lead in the four-match Test series and with South Africa attempting to get back to winning ways.
