Virat Kohli admires Prime Minister Narendra Modi's self-belief

The current poster boy of Indian cricket, Virat Kohli seems to be a big fan of India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reports CNN. Recently in an interview, India’s test skipper gave an interesting answer when he was asked to describe India’s current leader in one word.

Virat said ‘Self-belief' is the first word that comes to his mind when he thinks about PM Narendra Modi. According to Kohli, one of the best batsmen in the world right now, his self-belief holds up a mirror to the growing confidence of his generation in India.

Virat played an outstanding knock against Australia to lead India to the WorldT20 semifinal. He remained calm under pressure and scored a brilliant 82 off just 51 balls to chase the target of 160 in 19.1 overs. The knock once again provided a testament to the fact that the 27-year-old always excels under pressure.

An aggressive cricketer by nature, Kohli believes the aggression can also be utilized in a positive manner. He said, “I feel every sportsman should have that ... killer instinct because you need to be proud of the ability you have ... not in an arrogant way, but in a confident way. I am here, I am good enough, and I am going to express that because it helps me be the best I can be.”

The confident young cricketer also spoke about the “cultural change” that the people of his age are witnessing now, “When we go abroad people are speaking about our country and are being surprised at how expressive we've become." He believes the change is going to help the entire nation.
