Former India batsman Virender Sehwag’s tweets are nowadays the most viewed quotes on the internet; recently he made a witty comment regarding Olympian Yogeshwar Dutt’s Bronze Medal which will be upgraded to Silver after Besik Kudukhov, who won Silver in London, could be stripped of his medal after a blood sample tested positive for a banned substance.

With great displays from PV Sindhu and Sakshi Malik, the rest of the Indian contingent failed to shine in the much-awaited showpiece event. The 2012 London Olympics was probably the most successful Olympics ever for India as the contingent won 6 medals in total, but the feat was hardly matched 4 years later. If at all the Medal gets upgraded, Yogeshwar will be the second Indian wrestler after Sushil Kumar to win a Silver Medal at the Olympics.

In order to trace dope cheats, blood samples are now stored for up to 10 years. It is learnt that blood samples of 5 players failed the test when it was put under the scanner which includes Russia's Besik Kudhukov.

As per reports, a source related to the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) said, “Five wrestlers from London have tested positive from the re-tests with the deadline being 2017. We will test the samples again in 2017 before taking a final call on the matter. Another major name from London who failed the dope test is Uzbekistan’s Artur Tayazmov, in the 120 kg wrestler’s case his 2008 samples have also tested positive. If Kudukhov is confirmed in 2017, Yogeshwar will win silver as he lost his pre-quarter-final bout to him.”

In London, Yogeshwar Dutt lost the pre-quarter final to Kudukhov but as the Russian reached the final, Dutt got another chance to prove himself. He did not let his fans down, winning the Bronze Medal match and added to the tally. The Indian wrestler did not have a fruitful campaign in the recently concluded Rio Olympics, as he lost the first round bout to Mongolian Mandakhnaran Ganzorigiin.
