Virender Sehwag scores 48 from just 20 balls for CAG

Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag walks back to the pavilion after his dismissal at 96 runs during the opening one-day international (ODI) match between Sri Lanka and India at the Suriyawewa Mahinda Rajapakse International Cricket Stadium in the southern district of Hambantota on July 21, 2012.

Can Virender Sehwag make it back to Indian squad?

Virender Sehwag struck a lightning fast knock of 48 runs from just 20 balls for Comptroller & Auditor General of India (CAG) against their match against Mumbai Customs in a Group-C league match in the 10th All India Dr. D. Y. Patil T20 Cup at Navi Mumbai on Wednesday.

Sehwag started off with a thunder while scoring 15 runs from the first over itself as he faced Atish Gawand and then managed to rack 18 runs of the third over of the CAG innings.

He was eventually clean bowled by Alpesh Ramjani in the seventh over, and his dismissal turned out to be hazardous for his team as they lost wickets in quick successions and were restricted to 184 for the loss of eight wickets.

CAG were chasing 185 to win against Mumbai Customs but the game ended in a stalemate despite a flying start by Sehwag.

Sehwag had a forgettable Ranji tournament this season in which he aggregated 234 runs at 19.50 and a highest of 56.
