When Akhtar bowled left-arm over!

Yes, that day Sachin and Azhar batted left-handed, Akhtar and Saqlain bowled left-handed, Afridi threw the ball with his left hand and everything was just the opposite.

It was a mere co-incidence when I stood in front of the mirror by chance and saw an India-Pakistan match through it. I realised that it was one of the best things I had ever seen in my life. Akhtar running in fast and bowling left arm over, it’s a scene which I still cherish; the way that left arm went rolling over the left shoulder, delivered a toe-breaking yorker with the scintillating action of a left arm pacer. That day was the only day when I felt Wasim Akram did not have the most perfect bowling action.

Since that day I have watched many matches and specifically many players bowling or batting through the mirror. In my opinion, it was a beautiful sight as one does not get to see a Courtney Walsh, or Curtly Ambrose bowling left handed on a daily basis.

So if even you are someone who is bored of watching those daily, endless number of T20 games or those never ending India-Sri Lanka fixtures, try seeing cricket through the mirror. Cricket will be beautiful again!
