Akansha Sharma, who is the lawfully wedded wife of Zorawar Singh, Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s younger brother, is raising eyebrows with her confessions within the ‘Bigg Boss’ house. Bigg Boss is an Indian television reality show that airs on the Colors channel.
The show derived its concept from the ‘Big Brother’ show that first aired in Netherlands. Over the years, the concept has grown in popularity and there have been versions of the same in England and the United States as well.
The show is based around a ‘house’ where candidates are isolated from the rest of the world. Every week, contestants vote for a couple of people to be evicted from the house. Pending a vote from the public, one person is evicted and one stays on.
The Indian version – ‘Bigg Boss’ – is pretty much the same with a slight twist. The candidates are generally celebrities in their own circles and there’s a ‘Boss’ who controls what happens in the show. Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has immortalised himself in that role as he is immensely popular in the country.
Who is Akansha Sharma?
Now in its 10th edition, Bigg Boss is more popular than ever in India. As is custom, in the very first episode of the show, the candidates are introduced by Salman Khan. Akansha Sharma shot to instant fame when she announced that she is the wife of Zorawar Singh, Yuvraj Singh’s brother.
Akansha hails from Gurgaon and got married to Zorawar Singh a couple of years ago. However, due to some issues, the couple separated within four months of getting hitched. While they are still partners by law, they do not share any personal relationship whatsoever.
Akansha’s allegations
In the very first episode, Akansha made headlines by claiming that she never had any trouble with Zorawar, but that Yuvraj Singh and his mother are to be blamed for their separation. She said she was thrilled to be moving into a cricketer’s house, except it never really felt like that.
She added that she has moved past the issue and is ready for a divorce, even saying that she doesn’t want any alimony from the family.

Reports suggest that in today’s episode, she will reveal that Yuvraj and his entire family followed the couple on their honeymoon to keep a close eye on them. Further, she claims that the family had forced her to get pregnant.
Shabnam Singh, Yuvraj Singh’s mother, was quick to rebuff these claims. She quoted the law, saying, “First of all, this matter is sub judice and she (Akansha) is not allowed to speak. It goes under the contempt of court. There’s a special petition I had filed. Anyone can understand the agenda here and everybody knows it. We are not allowed to speak on this matter.”
With all these allegations set to go live today, there are bound to be further ramifications for Akansha, Yuvraj and his entire family.
