Every week we shall bring you the top games available on IOS and Android Platforms. For this week have listed some of the best games you can try out. Some of them are free, while some have in-app purchases (IAP) and some will cost you. The Prices are correct to the time we write this but may change by the time you read it.

First we line up the games that are available on both platforms:

Angry Birds Stella

This latest game from Rovio introduces new characters in the form of Stella and her fellow new Angry Birds. It’s the normal bird-slinging action with some innovative twists in the heroines’ superpowers, and boasts some excellent level design.

Spider-Man Unlimited

The most recent Spider-Man game from publisher Gameloft, is an endless runner but unsurprisingly, also adds some web-slinging and leaping action too. Presented in a stylised comic-strip form, the game is structured into problems that come up with a different supervillain boss each time.

All Star Quarterback

Available on IOS & Android

All Star Quarterback is an innovative game brings in a mix of sporting action and off-the-field career progression. And with latest style visuals, it’s truly enjoyable. You play as a quarterback, tasked with getting game-time, winning matches and using your cash.

Diamond Digger Saga

Available on IOS & Android

Candy Crush maker King brings you this latest Saga where you match colourful diamonds, creating gaps for more colourful diamonds to fall down into. An added twist is that there is water flowing on each level, and your job is to make matches to guide it to the exit. It’s pretty entertaining and fun to play.

Wolfblood - Shadow Runners

Coming from the recently aired drama Wolfblood, we have its own spin-off game called Wolfblood- Shadow Runner. It’s an endless runner that sees you dodging and smashing obstacles. In a clever move by the creators, new levels will be released to synchronise with the weekly TV episodes.

Super Monkey Ball Bounce

Available on IOS & Android

Super Monkey Ball is a popular game on various consoles and devices. And it has now been reinvented as a free-to-play Peggle clone. Bouncing monkeys through screens of bananas and platforms has always appealed to their fans and now they can continue to do so.

Mikey Boots

Available on IOS only

Following developer BeaverTap Games’ popular releases Mikey Hooks or Mikey Shorts, we have the latest app Mikey Boots and you can be sure it’s something polished and fun to play. It’s a platform game spread across 42 challenging levels, with tidy controls and lots to discover.

Valiant Hearts: The Great War

Cost: £2.99 + IAP

Available on IOS only

The First World War has been a regular inspiration for a lot of games, over the years, and keeping up with the trend, Ubisoft has released this new part game and part graphic novel, based on letters sent during the actual war. Game-play and history gel together splendidly, with additional episodes available through in-app purchases.

Nerf Hoops

Available on IOS only

Developer Backflip had a monster hit with its rubbish-chucking Paper Toss game, some years ago. Now it’s taken the same idea of flicking objects at targets into a branded partnership with Hasbro and created a Nerf-themed basketball flicking game that’s perfect for whiling away the spare time.

Kitty Powers’ Matchmaker

Cost: £1.99

Available on IOS only

This is a dating romance game, but you’re not doing the actual dating. Instead, you play as Kitty Powers, the drag-queen matchmaker and you job is to pair up some noticeably un-polished clients. Clever social features allow your friends to become a part of the action too.

KittenTaxi

Available on Android only

KittenTaxi is a game that is lovable on many points such as its plot that deals with bank-robbing cats, its inventive idea of viewing a racing game from in front of the car; and style of pencil-drawn graphics. It’s something new in an industry swamped with very similar games.

Appointment with F.E.A.R.

Cost: £1.99

Available on Android only

Publisher Tin Man Games have made a succession of similar apps and with this “interactive graphic novel”, they have added more superheroes. This one is based on Steve Jackson’s Appointment with F.E.A.R. game-book, which perfectly suits its new form as a digital product.

Block Fortress

Cost: £1.23 + IAP

Available on Android only

On the surface, Block Fortress looks a lot similar to Minecraft, but that is where the similarities end. Put on top of its blocky building is an exciting tower defence game, as you build your base then defend it from onrushing monsters. If you ever wished Minecraft had a bit more action, then this game is worth a look.

CounterSpy

Did you know about PlayStation Mobile? Yes that PlayStation! They have been taking out some neat games and the latest game from them is CounterSpy. It is a mobile spin-off from the PS4, PS3 and PS Vita game of the same name: a sneaky side-scrolling action game with remarkable graphics.
