All NBA fans are excited for the release of NBA 2K15, which will be available on stores from October 7th. This game is developed by Visual Concepts and is 2K sports sixteenth installment of NBA 2K and is set to be released for PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4. Let’s take a sneak preview of the game before it gets launched.

Cover Athlete

After being chosen as one of the three cover athletes for NBA 2K13 game, Kevin Durant now is now the sole cover athlete for this upcoming game. (NBA 2K14 had LeBron James). Kevin Durant is a huge fan of this franchise and has logged over 80 hours on NBA 2K14’s MyCareer mode.

Becoming the best in game

For the first time in the series, the players can scan their own faces using PlayStation Camera and Kinect for PS4 and Xbox One. Also, you can use your scanned players in MyCareer and online modes. In MyCareer mode, the players will start as an undrafted rookie with a 10-day contract, upon selected by a new team, a more experienced player will become your mentor and will teach you what it takes to be a NBA player. The game developers have recorded voices of players from every team for dialogues in this mode. The story’s action will be mainly focused on the court and interactions with your team. You can check in the below video about the mentors in MyCareer mode.

MyGM mode offers a RPG-like story progression. You start as a newly-hired rookie GM and work your way up to the big clubs. In the previous games, you have the choice to simulate or play each game as you progress. This time you can set strategic goals for the team before simulating, giving you more control on the game. Conversations with players in MyGM will be more realistic this time around, the players will keep track of your promises and in turn their morale will be affected by how well you follow it up. A rival GM might just refuse to trade with you, if you had snubbed him earlier in your career.

MyTeam makes a return in this game, with the addition of an auction house. There are new contents, challenges, and new players which includes legends of the game like Bernard King, Rick Barry, Tom Chambers, and Kevin Johnson. One can also expect weekly challenges for furthur rewards.

MyLeague is a new mode in this upcoming game, which is similar to the MyGM mode but with added customization and improvements. MyLeague mode has no conversation system and press conferences, it allows the players to focus entirely on the game. MyLeague is not online, but 2K has planned to add this feature online in the future games.

Gameplay

During the release of the demo, the improvements in the gameplay were noticed which made the on-court action look better than ever. To help players who have trouble locking down the timing for particular shots, the game developers have built a new dynamic shot meter. This colored meter makes it easier to tell when your player is in a range, where he is comfortable from shooting. This new shooting system is not meant to be a shot meter that guarantees you making the shot, it just merely teaches you where the shot is and how fine you take it.

In NBA 2K14, the addition of Pro Stick, for a finer degree of control over the ball, was widely praised and it makes a return to this game as well. The game developers didn’t overhaul the control scheme and is the same from previous game.

AI has been enhanced to make the opposition players more responsive, adapting to your actions swiftly making your play hard, and the movement looks so much smoother in this game. Every team had the same default strategy in NBA 2K14, which is, 3-out, 2-in configuration. Now, depending on the situation of game the strategies will vary, which gives more unique feel and realistic approach. There are more post-contact animations and a reduced amount of clipping in this game, for instance, when the players go for a dunk and a defender blocks his shot, he misses the shot completely instead of finishing it. There are over 6,000 animations for on the court action.
