Servers hit bad after Diablo PTR 2.1.2 release

Diablo 3

Blizzard’s PTR patch 2.1.2 for Diablo 3 that was first announced at Blizzcon just went live with the games servers being patched.

And as expected, the server was hit pretty hard with many players excited to try out the many new features available in this patch. The problem was made worse by the PTR Buff. The buff basically grants players a 300% bonus XP, 2000% bonus chance to find Legendaries, double goblin spawns, and double blood shards.

So many players rushed in to try and take advantage of this buff before it gets over and ended up clustering the servers instead. The buff was introduced to help players so they can try out Season 2 and the new conquests.

But now players are complaining that the servers are so clustered it’s almost impossible for them to get in a room. Many upset players have posted on the PTR forums about long queues they are facing, some lasting for hours.

The best way to try and get into a match and avoid the queues is to ask someone else on public chat to invite you. Once you’re done playing you can again ask if anybody wants a seasonal or non seasonal room, invite them and log out.

Besides this, there seems to be no way to get into a room without waiting in miserable long queues so players will be missing out on all the great features added. Hopefully Blizzard takes note of this and extends the buff so every player will be able to use it and test the new features of the patch.

Or they could focus on fixing the sever, either way they need to act so players can finally enjoy the PTR patch.
