The buzz around WWE 2K15 has been on the rise over the weeks with the fans being eager to see if there are any improvements from the previous edition.

Now the latest information that we have regarding the game before it’s release is that it won’t be having superstar vs diva matches like it had in some of the previous editions. The news was confirmed by Jared, the WWE 2K community manager in the 2K15 forum.

“For years now WWE programming has not featured violence between men and women. The WWE 2K series is a reflection of the content you see on WWE programming and so this will not be changing, nor will the removal of censorship in regards to nudity (A Teen rating is what’s #BestforBusiness). In the future, let’s also try and keep discussions of what’s possible through console modifications to a minimum as it starts getting into a weird grey area that isn’t comfortable for a number of parties”, he said.

The positives and negatives

So how will the fans react to this move? Many fans believe that WWE’s best phase was the attitude era in the mid 90’s to early 00’s and they relate very well to the success of that violent, controversial period. Those sets of fans surely don’t welcome this move, but at the same time they also have to realise that during the 80’s, WWE was originally in a family friendly territory like how it is now.

But on the brighter side, you now have less violence and the role of the divas have become more prominent. They are no more mere showpiece models, instead they have become good competitors and their numbers have increased. Apart from that their time in the ring has also seen a jump.

The makers have introduced some new game modes as well which has naturally generated a lot of interest. Overall, the game is expected to see a lot of positive feedback from the fans.
