What's the story?

EA Sports, the creators of FIFA 18 came under severe criticism after Danish club FC Helsingor took to their official Twitter handle and posted pictures of the mixed up home and away kits graphically designed for the game.

On their Twitter account, FC Helsingor specifically went on to question Electronic Arts' in-game flaw and seemed shocked at the mix-up although there was a month-and-a-half long discussion between both parties as suggested by the tweet.

In case you didn't know

FIFA 18 is one of EA's most sought-after offerings and after months of hype and buildup, the game finally hit shelves on September 29 and according to reviews, it indeed does fit the bill.

The latest edition features a wide array of various new improvements such as faster gameplay, improved visuals, new motion technology apart from the other interesting variations.

The heart of the matter

For a long time now, the game has borne witness to increasing popularity owing to the special gameplay and has also given a platform for football fanatics to explore players from various teams.

Helsingor is a relatively new club, founded in 2005 and play in the Danish Superliga. It was formed with the merger of five clubs from the region and was initially known as Elite 3000 Fodbold. In 2012, they renamed the team to its current one -- FC Helsingor.

What's next?

It remains to see how the makers respond and if any changes will be made to the game.

Author's take

Given that FIFA 18 is a huge accumulator of gaming freaks as well as a medium to attract more attention towards football, it is imperative that each team has its unique identity in the form of its team name as well as the home and away kits.

Although it is human to make an error, FCH had all the rights to criticise EA as in the end, the makers of the game had done wrong by mixing up the sponsors and the home and away kit.
