Monza outcome hard to predict: Sebastian Vettel

Reigning Formula One champion Sebastian Vettel has said that it is difficult to predict the outcome at Monza even though he believes that Red Bull has what it takes to triumph this weekend.

“It’s very difficult to predict. We have had painful years there in a way, where we just get hammered down the straights and we’ve had years where the loss down the straight was limited, so we could come back in the corners and for sure, if you look back the 2011 experience [when we won] was great in that regard. How it turns out to be this year it’s difficult to say,” Vettel told crash.net.

Vettel has two podiums at Monza under his belt, winning his first with Toro Rosso in 2008 and the second in 2011 with Red Bull.

“I think we can be quite confident though. We had a good race in Canada and we had a very good race at Spa, which are both medium down force type of tracks, so I hope that our low down force package goes in the same direction,” he added.

Vettel currently sits comfortably at the top of the standings with a 46 point lead over his nearest rivals Fernando Alonso.
