George Russell's longtime girlfriend, Carmen Mundt, shared a heartbreaking childhood story that changed her life. At just eight years old, her family went bankrupt, forcing Carmen to fund her education and manage her living on her own.
Carmen and Russell met through common friends in London and have been dating for over five years. Mundt was born in Spain and moved to London to pursue education.
Her move to the United Kingdom was inspired by a moving childhood tale that shaped her career in finance. According to her media, Carmen studied business management and finance at the University of Westminster.
Her interest in finance appeared when a tragedy struck her family. In a chat with 'Female Invest', Carmen Mundt revealed that when she was eight years old, her family went bankrupt. Her parents lost all their money and couldn't even fund her education.

Hence, Carmen moved to London and decided to build a career in finance. She funded her own education by working multiple jobs in the UK.
"We lost everything, and my life changed forever. That's when my interest in learning about money was born. I decided to learn as much as possible to never be in this position again," Mundt said.
After much hard work, she graduated in 2021 and worked as a financial advisor with an LLP firm. In 2023, though, she quit her job and moved to Monaco with George Russell to pursue a different life.
Carmen Mundt is now pursuing content creation. She has 616K followers on Instagram and regularly posts about her life with Russell and beyond.
Not only that, Carmen supports her boyfriend through his rigorous F1 schedule. She attends several race weekends to cheer for Russell from the Mercedes garage.
George Russell reveals his first meeting with Carmen
Mercedes' lead driver, George Russell, met his girlfriend Carmen Mundt over five years ago in London. Interestingly, Russell stepped in for a friend who was supposed to be on a date with Carmen. The duo ended up bonding well, and their friendship later blossomed into love.
"My mate couldn’t make it, so I thought I’d swing along to see how it goes. She told me she’s from the south of Spain, and she wouldn’t ever expect someone to know the small place she’s from. I knew exactly where she was from, so it was quite coincidental. I’m so fortunate with Carmen because we met before the craziness of F1. We met organically, and it wasn’t a setup," Russell told The Sun [via talksport]
Carmen is from Jerez, a small town in Spain where George Russell used to race during his karting days. The British driver added that Mundt had no idea about his Formula 1 career, and it helped him develop an organic bond with her.
