Nico Rosberg beat Lewis Hamilton in yesterday’s qualifying session at Montreal to record his second consecutive pole position. The result is a bitter blow for Hamilton who has a good record here, having stood on the top step of the podium thrice in his career.

Behind the Mercedes duo, Sebastian Vettel drove like a champion to outpace the two Williams who looked strong all weekend, and qualify in third place. Fernando Alonso again had the edge over Kimi Raikkonen while Jenson Button and Daniil Kvyat did a commendable job by making it into Q3.

Here are the top 10 tweets from qualifying:

Yes Lewis, you gotta praise your teammate when he does a better job.

After having the edge over Bottas all weekend, Massa was disappointed to be left behind in fifth.

A great lap by Vettel to outqualify the two Williams but this sounds worrying; we are only into the seventh race of the season.

That's how close as it gets without you doing a Maldonado!

Not only did he outqualify Bianchi, he also thought he could have even made it into Q2 without the red flag.

Practically, how much is 0.096s? Any idea?

No matter how much we criticize Maldonado, luck hasn't been on his side this season.

Honourable mention goes to Jean Eric Vergne for qualifying his Toro Rosso in eighth place.

Would be interesting to hear what these guys have to say today.
