Video: F1 Jerez testing sound comparison between 2014 and 2013

The new F1 rules have necessitated a host of changes to the car. On the first official day of testing of the new 1.6T V6 engines and the cars, all teams faced plenty of problems in getting their cars on the track.

Many teams failed to turn up until very late in the day when it started to rain, and that too for only a couple of laps, which included the installation lap and not much more.

The lap times also took a hit, with a difference of about 9-10 seconds to the worse being noted in the cars running this year compared to the best lap times over the past years at Jerez.

Here is a compilation of sounds from the various engines of the F1 cars that could make it to the track, with a comparison to the sounds from last year.
