106th Nadkarni Cup: Dodsal FC are new champions!

Ambitious Dodsal FC – who were only founded in May 2012 – have won their first title by lifting the 106th Nadkarni Cup through a 5-0 trashing of Mumbai Customs in the final at the RCF Ground in Chembur, Mumbai. The goals for Dodsal FC were scored by Sunil Kumar, Rabindra Ghosh, Bikash Jairu, Paresh Shivalkar and Demba Diakhate; who scored four of their goals in the second session.

The 106th edition of the ‘RCF’ Nadkarni Cup Football Tournament 2012/13 was held from October 3 to 18. 12 of Mumbai’s top clubs including I-League side ONGC, newly founded Dodsal FC and I-League Division 2 sides Kenkre FC and PIFA-Colaba FC took part.

The tournament was used by the top tier clubs of the Mumbai Football League as their season opener, but defending champions Mumbai FC, who last year had beaten PIFA-Colaba FC 4-0 in the final, did not take part.
