2nd Division I-League: LoneStar Kashmir FC register emphatic 4-0 win against United SC

LoneStar Kashmir FC defeated United SC 4-0

LoneStar Kashmir FC cruised to a 4-0 win with an impressive display of football against United SC of Kolkata, once a mighty I-League side under their sponsors names of Chirag United SC and Prayag United SC, in the 2nd Division League - Round 7 at Siliguri.

The J&K based outfit started the match with the right intent looking to score first. It was Christopher Chizoba who first ran riot and bedazzled the defence of United SC with his skills.

He combined well with Ajay Singh and the duo linked-up well for the first goal with Ajay providing a delightful through ball which was beautifully converted by Christopher. The team also went close with efforts by Faiz and Jagpreet very nearly resulting in further goals in the first half.

Kashmir FC started the second half with the same intent and it was again the duo of Ajay and Christopher combining well for the second goal but this time it was Christopher who was the provider and Ajay duly finished it off.

The game had several breaks due to the extreme hot and humid conditions which forced the referee to have two drinks breaks. But that didn't stop Kashmir FC from scoring as Christopher again made a dashing run and completed the run with an excellent finish which resulted in the third goal.

The team further enhanced their lead with a brilliant team goal which was started by the energetic run of Hayaat, who passed it to Rohit, who laid it off for Jagpreet, who rifled the shot into the back of the net. The final score ended 4-0 in favour of Kashmir FC.

Coach Hilal said, "It is a fantastic victory for us. We have been working hard in training trying to improve on our finishing and today's scoreline reflects our hard work. The boys were excellent throughout the game. It was a complete, dominant performance and I couldn't ask for more."

Club Secretary Majid Dar said, "It is a monumental win as the conditions never suited us. It was hot and humid and we were playing against a home team who practices all year round in these conditions. Truly it is a gem of a win for us. We have made everybody back home proud by our performances in the first leg of I-League 2, now we need to carry on the same momentum into the second leg."

Chairman Kashmir FC Jinab Iftikhar A. Lone, Executive Director Jinab Nazir A. Khan, and President JKFA Jinab Zameer A. Thakur congratulated the entire team and management for their wonderful exhibition of play.

Kashmir FC have maintained their second spot in the league table and are just two points shy of league leaders Aizawl FC.
