AIFF General Secretary: We have high expectations from the India women’s team

All India Football Federation General Secretary Kushal Das visited the India Women's National Team preparing for the 2014 Incheon Asian Games on Monday, August 4.

During the interaction with the players and coaching staff, Mr. Das assured the female National Team footballers will get more Exposure Tours, International Tournaments, longer camps and overall more support from the Governing Body in the times to come.

"We all know how well the Women's Team is doing at the moment," he told all members of the contingent at the Cooperage Stadium on Mumbai on Monday. We have high expectations from them. We at AIFF would give our best at providing full support to women's football."

"There will be more exposure tours, more number of international tournaments to take part in and longer camps," he added.

The 31-member team who are currently ranked 50 in the latest FIFA Rankings, are currently training for the September Games. A final list of 18 players will be travelling to South Korea for the Games later this year. The contingent will also be visiting China for an Exposure Tour.

In their third practice match on Saturday against Colaba Under-19 Academy, the girls rode on second half goals from striker Bala Devi (61st) and midfielder Kamala Devi (79th)to down the boys 2-1. The Colaba Team halved the margin in the 87th minute.
