Liverpool's Anfield evacuated as two men suspiciously go missing inside

Liverpool FC evacuate their stadium as two men go missing

Anfield, which is the home to one of the most famous English teams – Liverpool, has been evacuated after two men part of a stadium tour went missing, as per Mirror. The police were informed about the development and a crew was sent inside the stadium to find the missing men.

The Merseyside Police had received a report about the incident at 1:30 pm and arrived at the location on 3:05 pm. The club evacuated the staff and the people who were on a stadium tour as "a precautionary measure" according to a spokesperson.

Here is what a Merseyside spokesman had to say: "There is an incident at Anfield stadium and as a precautionary measure the facility has been evacuated. The priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone at the ground. The emergency services are aware of the situation."

The incident saw the famous Shankly Gates being locked so no one could get in or out.

The club which is undergoing a massive renovation where the capacity of the main stand will be increased from its current 45,000 to 54,000, had quite a few people working on the spot. While the renovation is scheduled to be completed during the course of the 2016/17 season, the men working on the spot were made to wait out in the rain for their own safety.

Few workers from the local pub have even reported that there was a bomb scare.

The club are set to face newly promoted side Bournemouth in a Capital One Cup fixture tomorrow at home, and will be looking to have no incidents before that. Liverpool have already faced Bournemouth once this season, in a controversial win, where the men in Red scored a goal which should have been given an offside.

Bournemouth will be looking to retaliate by claiming a victory tomorrow.

Here is a video of the incident.
