Arsenal indecison may lead to them losing out on Jurgen Klopp forever

Arsenal has been bruised, if not battered after their 1-2 loss to Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium last Saturday. The major question in the minds of Arsenal supporters is that for how long can they go on being mediocre with Arsene Wenger in charge. Arsenal have been consistently coming 4th in the EPL for the past few years, indicating that they remain an ambitionless club satisfied with a higher mid table finish.

The important question to be asked is that are the fans satisfied with just a FA Cup win in the past 9 years, especially after investing decent amount of money for the likes of Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Santi Cazorla?. There is certainly a problem with the average mentality which has been prevalent at Arsenal, and there is a need for change. If and when the Arsenal Management decides to take the big decision on replacing the current Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger it might be too late, with Jurgen Klopp considered to be the most likely replacement.

Jurgen Klopp has worked since 2008 at Dortmund and before that at Mainz from 2001. He appears to have been tired of working to provide players for Bayern Munich as Borussia Dortmund manager, with most of his star players opting for the switch to Munich. Borussia Dortmund is currently in 16th place in the Bundesliga after a string of poor performances and many injuries. Also, they are becoming redundant, with Bayern Munich ruling Germany for the past couple of years.

Jurgen Klopp has always been a fan favourite at the Signal Iduna Park, but he says, "The important thing is new ideas, not money,It is important to make the next step.” Klopp has already expressed his strong desire to work in the premier league. Klopp said: “I think it’s the only country where I should work, because it’s the only country I know the language a little bit and I need the language for my work. If somebody will call me, then we will talk about it.”

Arsenal value stability, which is evident from their 18 year old association with Arsene Wenger. Klopp has an ability to nurture young players, which has been a hallmark of Arsenal since the early days, with the likes of Tony Adams, Jack Wilshere, Martin Keown coming through their youth academy. Klopp likes to play an attacking brand of football, with very quick midfielders which the Arsenal fans would love to see.

Jurgen Klopp has himself stated how he is different from Arsene Wenger, he was quoted saying “Wenger likes having the ball, playing football, passes... it’s like an orchestra,’ he adds, gesturing as if playing a violin, ‘but it is a silent song. I like heavy metal more. I always want it loud”.The Borussia Dortmund manager is a very lively character as compared to Arsene Wenger who prefers to remain silent. He has a strong personality, and is more expressive. Klopp ticks every box in terms of Arsenal’s checklist and can surely be a valuable addition.

The longer Arsenal remains in mid-table the less 'unthinkable' replacing Arsene Wenger becomes to Arsenal. With both Pellegrini and Rodgers under fire for the recent performances by their respective clubs, there seems to be a long queue developing to acquire Klopp’s services. Klopp being a fairly experienced manager will jump at the possibility of managing a bigger club in England with more financial muscle.

This indecision from the Arsenal board can prove costly for the club. Arsenal currently lie in 8th place still waiting for a turn of a tide under their current manager Arsene Wenger. Will it happen? Even if it does, will it be too late?
