Rumour: Arsene Wenger to convince Alexis Sanchez to join Arsenal, after Gunners meet Barcelona’s price-tag

Arsenal are preparing a charm offensive to snare Alexis Sanchez away from Barcelona, after tabling a bid that meets the Catalan club’s valuation of the dynamic forward, according to Goal.com.

The North London club have made an offer of £32 million for the Chilean international, which is enough for Barcelona to allow talks to open between the two parties. Arsene Wenger will personally meet Sanchez’s agent in Brazil this week in an attempt to convince him that the winger’s future lies at the Emirates.

Premier League rivals Liverpool could scupper their hopes by requesting Sanchez as part of any deal that takes Luis Suarez to the Camp Nou. Manchester United and Juventus also have significant interest in signing Sanchez.

Arsenal are confident that their offer for Sanchez is of significant enough value for Barcelona to sanction the deal. Wenger’s task is now to convince Sanchez, whose Chile side exited the World Cup after losing on penalties to Brazil, to choose Arsenal ahead of the many suitors that maintain an interest in him.
