The Executive Committee of Mohun Bagan Athletic Club held an emergency meeting at the clubs Maidan tent in regard to the 2014 Mohun Bagan Day.The Executive Committee took following decisions at the meeting1. Mohun Bagan Ratna will be awarded to Arumainayagam, ex-footballer of the Club who also had a great contribution to Indian Football and who served the Club loyally.2. Late Karuna Sankar Bhattacharjee Award for Best Footballer of the Year to be given to Katsumi Yusa.3. Late Dhiren Dey Award for Best Cricketer of the Year to be given to Jayojit Basu.4. Sailen Manna Memorial Award for Best Sportsperson of the Year Award to be given to Leander Paes (US Men’s Doubles Title in 2013).5. Felicitations also to be given to Wriddhiman Saha (for his century in the IPL final match), Laxmi Ratan Shukla (for 100 Ranji Trophy Caps) and Mohammed Sami (Test debut for India Team).The exact date and venue of the Awards function, which will be part of the 125th anniversary celebrations of the Club, will be notified at a later date.Meanwhile, on July 29 this year, there will be 3 exhibition matches that will be played at the club ground.1.
