Former football player and coach, Johan Cruyff speaks ahead of the preview of 'L'Ultim partit' (The last match) in Barcelona, Spain

Former Barcelona legend Johan Cruyff has dismissed rumours suggesting that former club president Joan Laporta will bring Cristiano Ronaldo and Jose Mourinho to Camp Nou if he is to win the upcoming elections. Laporta was the Catalan giants’ president between the period of 2003 and 2010.

There are speculations in Spain suggesting that Laporta will contest in the Blaugrana presidential election and will aim to bring the champion duo to Camp Nou. The gossip started after Laporta met Jorge Mendes, the agent of the Real Madrid forward and the current Chelsea boss in midweek. But the former Barcelona coach Cruyff has rubbished the rumours.

The 67-year-old told the reporters on the news being circulated: "I don't think there's much to them, they're just idle comments. When you talk about something you know nothing about, you end up kicking up a storm for no reason.”

"Sport is a game which holds many possibilities, but in this case they are unlikely to be feasible,” he adds. “I don't imagine that Laporta would bring in Mou and Cristiano."

The Portuguese striker Ronaldo has been part of Barcelona’s fiercest rivals Real Madrid since last five years, whereas Mourinho has had a bitter rivalry with Barcelona for the last decade after managing Real Madrid following his snub at Barcelona during Pep Guardiola’s appointment.

After Sandra Rossel resignation over many failures like Neymar’s hidden transfer fees, Josep Maria Bartomeu succeeded Rossel as the club’s current president. He has also announced his interest for the contention of the role in the election in 2016.
