Barcelona are eyeing an audacious move for Tottenham Hotspur star, Dele Alli, as they believe that the Englishman would be a perfect replacement for the aging Andres Iniesta. According to our sources, the midfielder, who is also being linked to French giants, Paris-Saint Germain, would cost the Catalans a mammoth £60 million as Daniel Levy is set to do everything in his power to resist the Spanish champions.
Alli has been a revelation ever since featuring for the North London club as he has moulded himself into an indispensable player in the squad. His uncanny ability to marshal the midfield, while also popping up inside the box to score every now and then is said to have impressed Luis Enrique, who sees him as the apt successor to Iniesta’s throne.
While Barca are yet to make any official contact, our sources claim that they are seriously considering making a move next summer and are ready to break the bank if necessary since they see him as the right midfielder to partner the famous trio of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez.
Back in January this year, Dele Alli’s mother gave an interview to the Sun where she revealed that her son’s dream was to become a professional footballer and don the red and blue shirt of the Blaugranas in the process.

“I could see he had talent and I would take him to the park as much as I could,” she told The Sun. “He always wanted to be a footballer since he was a little boy and dreamed of playing for Barcelona.”
Hence, it would be interesting to see how the England international responds to Barcelona’s response as it would be really difficult to say no to the club that he has wanted to play for since his childhood, something which Gareth Bale can attest to.
Daniel Levy tried his utmost to keep the Welshman at the White Hart Lane, but the former Southampton boy’s burning desire to play for Real Madrid saw Levy’s hand being forced into allowing a transfer. In the end, the Tottenham chairman made absolutely sure that the transfer fee for Bale would surpass the then world record fee of £80 million that the Galacticos paid for Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009.
Something similar could happen here as Daniel Levy, if forced to surrender to the transfer, would squeeze out every possible penny from the Camp Nou outfit should they take his prized asset. Our sources believe that Barcelona would be willing to pay the price tag of £60 million in order to get their man.
