Battle Royale!

Liverpool take on Manchester United, in what is arguably one of English football’s most oldest and fiercest rivalries at Anfield this weekend.

Though, no prizes for guessing who is the hot favourite going into this Sundays match, there is every possibility of Liverpool throwing the form book out of the window and upsetting a United side, which has started the season pretty well(3 wins after that opening day shocker by Everton).

On the other hand, Liverpool have had a poor start to their Premier League campaign(2 draws and losses each), and are yet to win a game this season.

Last season, both sides have had their share of controversies, which included the ‘Suarez-Evra’ saga, and it would be interesting to see if both players do shake hands at the pre-game handshake ritual.

Will they or wont they!

Though fireworks are expected, the game surely will have its own set of personal duels, and looks set towards a close finish.

Liverpool will be playing this game after the Hillsborough tragedy ‘revealations’, and the ‘emotional factor’ definitely looks to be high amongst the Anfield faithful.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, though not exactly having a ‘world beating’ side at his disposal, will definitely be looking out for a win, as it can change the clubs current poor run.

On the other hand, Sir Alex and his side will aim to pile on more misery for Liverpool, and would be gunning for a 4th straight win.

But, despite a 1-0 win over Galatasaray in their Champions league opener, United still cannot afford to take Rodgers team lightly, with a young Liverpool side putting up an impressive show to beat Swiss side Young Boys(5-3), away from home.

Liverpool have the impressive Raheem Sterling as a positive, and though Nuri Sahin is yet to reproduce the form he had during his Borussia Dortmund days, United will look upon Robin Van Persie(who has had a dream start so far!) and of course Shinji Kagawa to shine on Sunday.

A win for either side would probably just be the start of a great Premier League campaign to come!
