Brazilian model Fernanda Lima to host Ballon d'Or ceremony

Brazilian model Fernanda Lima will cover for the FIFA Ballon d’Or gala later today.

The 36-year-old also hosted the draw for the 2014 World Cup Finals in Costo do Sauipe where there was some controversy as the Iranians were not able to watch the draw because TV directors in the Islamic Republic cut the draw.

Why so? The Iranian TV directors termed it too sexy and ended up censoring her clothing at certain points!

However, Lima will now have to change her appearance for January 13th after outpouring complaints from Iranians.

After all this, Fernanda Lima stated: “I am sorry for what happened. It was never my intention to offend any country, culture or people, or cause controversy.

“I have learned from this experience and will therefore be very careful in choosing my dress for the Ballon d’Or Gala so all can watch.”

Lima’s co host will be former Dutch footballer Ruud Gullit.

Gullit and Lima will take over the role of of hosting the much awaited award ceremony that involves Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Franck Ribery as the prime candidates with Ronaldo being termed as a favorite to win the award this time and end Lionel Messi’s record breaking 4 year success.
