“The rivalry is formed by the press. I have no rivalry with Messi. We face each other professionally and have a normal relationship. You can’t please everyone. It’s normal. I have to respect all opinions. My life doesn’t depend on what people think.”
In another interview earlier this week with Spanish daily Marca, he said, “It's part of my life now. People are bound to compare us, like in Formula 1, they make comparisons between Ferrari and Mercedes. It's all part of this and I'm used to it, not only from living in Madrid all these years, it went on in Manchester before, so I know how to deal with it.”
