It comes as no surprise to the sporting world that Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo has been known for his altruistic gestures over the years. Andre Moreno, 37, who is regarded as most obese person alive today, has received a token of good faith from the Real Madrid winger. Moreno, who weighed over 400kg, has had his first successful surgery to lose weight.

According to recent on reports Fox News, Cristiano Ronaldo sent Andre Moreno, a jersey signed by the squad. Moreno, who woke up to the wonderful surprise said this of the Real Madrid team and the iconic number seven of that team.

“Many thanks to everyone, including Cristiano Ronaldo, for taking an interest in my case,” he said.

“Sometimes you think they are in another world, far from ordinary people, but that's not true. I feel like I've been given a wonderful Christmas present before it was time,” said an overjoyed Moreno.

Moreno, a retired policeman, also had a video dedicated to him by Chivas Guadalajara, widely regarded as one of the most popular football clubs in Mexico.

“So many people have helped me and continue to help me that I'm going to focus my life, or a good part of it, on helping people like me”.

Moreno, a resident of Ciudad Obregon, in northwest Mexico will be undergoing surgery to lose around 150 kg within a year, at which time he would weigh around 80 kg.

Ronaldo, who scored in the last La Liga fixture against Las Palmas, is currently the highest goal-scorer of all time at Real Madrid and also the highest scorer currently in the UEFA Champions League. To add to his list of accolades, he is a four-time winner of the European Golden Shoe and three-time winner of the FIFA Ballon d'Or.

Ronaldo who also has a history of philanthropy, is known to have contributed to many worldly causes. He has donated money for funding schools in Gaza and he also had a part FIFA's health programme, which helps raise awareness against drug abuse and alcohol abuse.

The 30-year-old Real Madrid winger also encourages people to strive to maintain fitness, by posting videos on social media platforms. He is also famously known for being defensive of his fans and also publicly surprising them. He has continued to astonish the footballing world with his play, fitness and the abundance of potency in his game.
