After winning the third Golden Boot of his career after finishing his campaign as the joint-top scorer in Europe with 31 goals last season along with Barcelona’s Luis Suarez., Cristiano Ronaldo spoke to the media on Wednesday.

When asked about his current contract which doesn’t expire until June 2018, the Portuguese was quoted by the club’s official website stating, “We have to talk with Florentino Pérez. I'm very happy and in a great moment of form. Personally and in sporting terms, everything is going well. I want to win and get as many trophies as possible with this club.”

“I hope to finish my contract with Real Madrid at 33 and after that we'll see if they want me to stay. I feel young and still a long way off retiring,” he added.

Since his transfer from Manchester United for a then-record transfer fee, Ronaldo has been constantly a subject to rumours linking him with a comeback to the Old Trafford, but with his recent comments, it is safe to say that those rumours will be brushed away.

The 27-year-old is also a favourite to bag this year’s Ballon d'Or and states that he won’t be surprised if he wins it.

“I wouldn't be surprised not to win it,” he said. “Nothing surprises me in football and you have to be ready for everything. I feel good and I'm very happy, on a collective and an individual level. I would obviously like to win it, but I'm not obsessed by it. I'm doing well, helping my team to win games and getting goals."
