Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher has revealed that all is not well in the Manchester United dressing room as United have struggled to keep pace with the top four.

The Scottish international said, “Spirits are down at times. There is no doubt about that. The players are hurting.

“The dressing room is full of good characters, but it’s not the liveliest at the moment and that is understandable.

“We would be more concerned if people were coming in happy, accepting the situation. A lot are angry, there have been a few snaps. Different things like that are understandable. I like to see that.

“Once the success comes back, that is when the dressing room becomes a fun and lively place again,” he added.

Fletcher also said that his team is in the news for the wrong reasons but he hopes that his teammates will use it to their advantage,

“Every Tom, Dick and Harry is writing an article and having a say on it. It becomes annoying and you are aggrieved by it but we can use it as fuel.

“We’ve been here before. There have been seasons when we haven’t won the league, but there has been a long-term goal in place and it has always come through in the end.”
