As part of a new documentary about football in different corners of the globe, footballing icon David Beckham has made the latest stop on his global tour by reaching Antartica, as per reports on Mirror. Beckham plans to play a game of football and he has admitted he will likely be the coldest football game of his entire career.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid man is currently trotting across the world as he looks to play on all seven continents. The 40-year-old’s official Instagram has been updated with a selfie, where the former England skipper marvelled at his latest setting.

“Just marked the pitch out ... Anyone see the corner flag behind me ?? game 5 Antartica WOW no words !!!!” he wrote.

Beckham had visited Nepal last week and played alongside the children affected by this April’s huge earthquake which took away approximately 9,000 lives. He embraced the local culture with face paint and a traditional scarf before hundreds of fans gathered to witness his game with the local kids.

The 40-year-old also took time to have a chat with the students in their classroom and one of the student had said ‘it was the best day of his life and he’s so happy to meet him.’

Beckham has already visited a shanty town in Argentina

Earlier this week, Beckham had enjoyed a kickaround in a deprived Argentina shanty town. He arrived at the Villa 1-11-14 shanty town, located near to San Lorenzo’ s stadium in the south of Argentina’ s capital Buenos Aires.

The ex-England international played an impromptu match with a handful of local kids. There were hoards of people surrounding the pitch where the match was played, just to get a glimpse on the footballing icon.

Hernan Morelli, who's a local priest in the town, told Cancha Llena: "He was here for about two hours. He said hello to residents and played football with the children."

"Here we have the church team, Mothers of the People, and he played with them."

Beckham has already been filmed kicking a ball around with locals in Papa New Guinea and the documentary is set to show seven games of football on seven continents, which will see him visit various other places such as Djibouti and Miami.
