David Moyes: Off to Turkey?

Former Manchester United boss David Moyes has held talks with Turkish side Galatasaray about the possibility of becoming their new manager, according to Talk SPORT.

The 51-year-old was relieved of his duties as Red Devils manager in April following a disastrous debut season in charge at Old Trafford, with the club recording their worst ever points total in the Premier League era.

However, following reports that Moyes has received a number of offers during his brief spell away from football over the summer, he now appears to be ready to put the sour experience he endured at United behind him and consider clubs that remain interested in his services.

Former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini was sacked by Galatasaray at the end of last season and the Turks have installed Moyes as one of three high profile coaches on their short list according to a club spokesman.

“It is true the president talked with David Moyes. They just spoke to each other, exchanging ideas – that is it.

“We are not in a rush, we are waiting for the end of the World Cup. The first two targets are [Joachim] Low or [Jurgen] Klinsmann,” the spokesman told reporters.

Even if Moyes is not a primary target, the Turkish side’s interest is positive news for the Scot, who may have been worried that clubs would have been put off by his failure at the Theatre of Dreams.
