Raman was also fondly nicknamed as the “Golden Boy” for his expertise at scoring winners in crucial games. In his 4 year stint with the National team, Raman played and scored in various prestigious tournaments like the Asian Games, SAFF cup, SAF games as well as the 1998 World Cup Qualifiers held at Qatar.

The experience Raman brings with him is unparalleled: Delhi Dynamos president

On Raman Vijayan joining the team, Delhi Dynamos FC president Prashant Agarwal said, “The experience Raman brings with him is unparalleled. His passion for the development of football at the grassroots level is in line with our club’s philosophy.”

At the twilight of his playing career, Raman took to coaching. He completed his AFC A license in 2014 and had previously managed South United club for 3 years before taking charge at Chennai FC.
