DSK Shivajians Football Club, who will be participating in the 2015-16 I-League 2nd Division campaign, and is owned and operated by the diversified business conglomerate DSK Group has spruced up its squad by signing up Indian football stalwart Derrick Pereira as the Head Coach. The appointment of the much-acclaimed coach demonstrates the club’s ambition and confidence for the upcoming football season of 2015-16.
Pereira is one of the most renowned Indian association football managers and former players. He has managed multiple Indian I-League sides before coming on board to lead DSK Shivajians. He is highly respected for his work in youth promotion and has been lauded by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) as the best coach for 2012-13.
Derrick Pereira also boasts of a playing career, spanning over nineteen years, with reputable clubs across the country.
Speaking on his appointment, Mr. Shirish Kulkarni, Director, DSK Shivajians Football Club said, “DSK Shivajians FC has had a successful couple of seasons over the last few years, winning PDFA Super Division consecutively, along with DSK Cup, President’s Cup, and more. In 2013, we played our first-ever national season in the I-League 2nd Division.”

Over the last three weeks, the DSK Shivajians FC players have been taking part in a high-intensity training programme for the forthcoming football season. The sessions are implemented across all areas of fitness, endurance, ball work, strength and conditioning. DSK Shivajians also have a partnership with the English Premier League club Liverpool FC. The partnership is pertinent in the academy setup, with academy players trained by coaches from Liverpool FC.
