Pop singer Rihanna, who was seen at the recently concluded FIFA World Cup final in Brazil and has also indulged in a fair share of punditry on Twitter, is being requested by fans of French club RC Lens to take-over the club.
The Barbadian, who was seen revelling in the post- match celebrations with the German team, has also impressed fans world wide with her knowledge of the game, as indicated by a few of her tweets.
Following a lot of speculation over their promotion to Ligue 1, fans of Lens have become rather disillusioned with their current owners. The club was initially denied promotion to the top division because of financial irregularities, and then when promotion was finally sealed, they were stuck with a transfer cap. The club are still awaiting money from their owner, Hafiz Mammadov, who is also trying to buy Sheffield Wednesday.
With all this uncertainity, fans of the club have now started a campaign on Twitter, using #RihannaForRCLens hashtag to convince her to buy the club and replace Gervais Martel as president.
