Borisov in action

Bulgarian league B-division team Vitosha Bistritsa has a new recruit in the form of former Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov .

Borisov was recently registered as a professional football player with the Bulgarian Football Union as well.

Known to be a big fan of sports, the former political supremo is also a karate professional and an avid tennis lover.

After struggling from a string of hypertension crisis in early 2012, Borisov was warned by his doctors to abstain from sports. However, he is now reported to be in good health and is medically cleared to participate.

The former Prime Minister, who turned 54 this summer, will break the record for being the oldest professional football player in the history of Bulgarian football.
