Former Real Madrid, Sampdoria and Roma manager Vujadin Boskov passes away at 82

Former Real Madrid and AS Roma manager Vujadin Boskov has died aged 82 in Genoa, Italy.

Born on 16th May 1931 in Serbia, Boskov had managed Real Madrid between 1979 and 1982, and under him the Whites won the La Liga once and the Copa del Rey twice. However, his greatest stint as a manager came during his time at Sampdoria after he led them to a Serie A scudetto win followed by a European Cup final in the next season.

He has coached Real Zaragoza, Sporting de Gijón, AS Roma, Feyenoord and Napoli among all other European clubs. He also coached the Yugoslavian national team at the Euro 2000, the tournament where they were knocked out by Netherlands in the quarter-finals.

The cause of the death of the Serbian manager is yet to be revealed.
