When his teammate won the ball on the left flank and with the opposition goalkeeper stationed close to the near post, Hofmann found himself in the clear when he received a through ball right in front of the goal.
But all he could do was put the ball over the crossbar as the fans behind the goal couldn’t believe what they just witnessed.
Luckily for Hofmann, Kaiserslautern won 1-0.
