Barcelona, July 12 (IANS/EFE) Uruguay forward Luis Suarez said he fulfilled his dream by striking a deal with FC Barcelona for five years for 81 million euros, making him the fourth most expensive player in history.

"It is with a heavy heart that I leave Liverpool for a new life and new challenges in Spain. Both I and my family have fallen in love with this club and with the city. I hope you can all understand why I have made this decision. This club did all they could to get me to stay," the striker said in a statement, reports Efe.

The 27-year-old said "playing and living in Spain is a lifelong dream and ambition. I believe now the timing is right".

Suarez is Barcelona's fourth signing for the 2014-15 season after German goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Croatia's Ivan Rakitic and Chilean goalkeeper Claudio Bravo.

Suarez ended the last season as Premier League's top scorer with 31. He won the Premier League Golden Boot and shared the European Golden Shoe with Cristiano Ronaldo.
