Real Madrid’ Iker Casillas has said at the Sports Club of Boadilla del Monte during a question-answer session that he would consider leaving Real Madrid.

Injury woes have worsen it .

When asked about his spell on the bench from a youngster from the crowd, the La Roja skipper said “Of course I’d like to play, but you need to respect the coach. It’s his decision. A player, from a selfish point of view, will always want to play, but a good professional accepts it. I’d like to be at Real Madrid forever because it’s what I’ve dreamed of doing since I was kid. What I need to do is train harder so I can play”.

Another question was fired at him, this time whether he would leave the club where he had been since he was very young. Iker replied this with ease in the beginning but at the end he publicly disclosed his desire that he would ‘leave’ the club.

“If a player isn’t in the action he starts thinking about taking a decision. I’m human and I’m a footballer. I haven’t played for nine months now and it’s the same for me. I’m not a robot. Of course I want to stay here and win more titles with Real Madrid. I’ve been here since I was little, but there will come a day in which I have to take a decision. As of now my decision is to stay and fight, to struggle and play every day. If I wasn’t sure about it I would have told the president I wanted to leave in September and that no matter what at Christmas. But I decided that I want to be part of this squad for a long time yet… that said, if in three months things haven’t changed and you ask me the same question, well maybe I’ll be thinking about leaving”.

Iker has hardly played for the Los Blancos since the last time he was injured in January during the Jose Mourinho era and has found pretty difficult to make a comeback since then.

But the captain has still got the backing from the National Coach Vincent Del Bosque.
