The Indonesian foreign ministry said on Monday that it will seek the extradition of the country's football association chief, who has been named a suspect in a graft case.

Despite there being no extradition treaty with Singapore, Indonesia could coordinate with the government of Singapore on the deportation of La Nyala Mattalittia, spokesman of the Indonesian Foreign Ministry Arrmanatha Nasir told media persons here, reports Xinhua.

La Nyala was named a suspect by the East Java Prosecutors Office on 17 March for allegedly misappropriating funds amounting to billions of rupiah in 2012, and he was also declared a fugitive as he fled the country on the day.

The suspect escaped to Malaysia before entering Singapore, according to the attorney general office.
