ISL: Greek World Cup goalkeeper Alexandros Tzorvas joins NorthEast United

Greece’s former World Cup goalkeeper Alexandros Tzorvas has signed for NorthEast United FC in the Indian Super League according to a report in Greece.

Tzorvas played all three of Greece’s group matches in the 2010 FIFA World Cup and also featured in at the 2012 European Championship.

The 32-year-old custodian has won the Greek top flight league title with Panathinaikos and has also had spells in Italy with Palermo and Genoa.

Last season he played for Greek Super League outfit Apollon Smyrni and has now agreed a four-month contract with NorthEast United.

Tzorvas will be expected to be the first-choice goalkeeper of NorthEast United with their other two keepers – TP Rehnesh and Kunzang Bhutia - being inexperienced.
