Israeli players attacked during the game betwen Maccabi Haifa and Lille

A pre-season game saw a chaotic end in Austria when the Israeli players were attacked by the supporters in the stadium. During the match between Israeli club Maccabi Haifa and Lille, fans stormed on the pitch, chanting Gaza slogans to attack the players.

According the to the reports from Salzburg police, 20 supporters held ‘Free Palestine’ banners stopped the game after 86 minutes to launch a physical attack on the players.

While some players decided to retaliate as they traded a few blows with the protesters, the referee called off the match with no significant injuries on the record.

Lille were leading the game 2-0.

Meanwhile, all the Isreali football clubs are banned from hosting a game in ther country.
