Lionel Messi writes an interesting letter, the first of a series

Lionel Messi
Messi is generally a man of few words

Lionel Messi wrote a very interesting letter on Thursday which had a motivational tone to it. The Argentine is not a man of many words but has decided to put in writing some of his thoughts. This is set to be the first of a 10 part series in association with energy drink company Gatorade.

The letter has not been addressed to anyone in particular with the intent being inspiration and instilling confidence. The Argentine will be publishing one of these letters every week and each one will be written for a particular cause.’

The communities that will receive the handwritten version of this letter will be revealed in the coming weeks. Messi posted the letter on his Facebook page in both Spanish and in English:

Messi is set to play for Barcelona in the derby against Espanyol this weekend. The Catalans are still top of the table in La Liga but only on the head-to-head record. Atletico have the same number of points in second and Real Madrid are only a point behind the duo

With only two games left to play in the league, Barca have no option but to win their remaining two games to prevent Atletico or Real from winning the title. Of the five major European Leagues, only La Liga and Bundesliga still remain undecided.

Bayern Munich are expected to win the German league when they play this weekend but it looks like La Liga will go down to the wire. Barca will hope Messi will help the club through and claim their 2nd successive league title.

Messi was also featured in a video released around two months back by Gatorade with a message of never giving up no matter what comes your way.
