Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has revealed the secret behind his rather exuberant ‘Hulk’ celebration seen up and down the country over the last few months.
Suarez has scored 29 goals in the Premier League this season and is widely expected to sweep up all of the end of season awards voted for by his fellow professionals and the media.
He has been a star and one of the main reasons why Liverpool find themselves two points clear at the top of the league and heading into their biggest game in years at the weekend. The winner of their match against Manchester City has been tipped to continue on and win the league title.
He is remaining calm, though, and revealed the reason behind his strange celebration.
“My daughter loves football, and she likes when I score a goal and celebrate,”explains Suarez to Liverpool’s official website.
“She loves princesses and things like that, but I can’t do it [for a celebration] on the pitch!
“But she also likes Hulk, Spiderman and Superman. I told her when I score, I’d do a celebration like Hulk or Superman, so it’s for her. She watches on TV and loves when I do it.”
Suarez leads the way in goals (29) and assists (11) in the Premier League.
