Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling believes that his side must make the most of back to back home games if they are to sustain their current position in the Premier League table. A much changed Liverpool side lost 3-1 at Hull City on Sunday, and Sterling told Sky Sports that they need to bounce back with maximum points from their next two games against Norwich and West Ham.

“In these back-to-back games at home, hopefully we can go out there and get the six points that we need to get right back where we need to be,” said Sterling.

Whilst his manager Brendan Rodgers has tried to play down expectations, Sterling continued “We’ve got big ambitions to be right up at the top end. Hopefully in these next two games we can do the job.”

“We’re only looking for the positives and today wasn’t one of them. We’ll take that into the game against Norwich on Wednesday. Hopefully we can get the three points and move on to Saturday.”

On defeat to Hull, Sterling said:

“I thought we started off a little bit slowly, but gradually got into our game. We were just really disappointed to slip away at the end and lose two crucial goals.”

Sterling will be hoping to be involved in those fixtures, having come into the side at Hull after a spell out of the team. The one-cap England international has struggled for game time this season and Sunday was only his second league start of the season.

Despite only completing 90 minutes once in his eight appearances this season, Sterling has created eight chances this season. This amounts to one every 35.5 minutes.
