Liverpool legend and former England international, Steven Gerrard has expressed his desire of a Liverpool reconciliation with his fellow Merseyside club superstar, Jamie Carragher in some sort of a coaching role.

The 35-year-old English midfielder has also admitted to the fact that he is open to other football clubs as well, in case he is not given an opportunity to go back to his former club.

In a recent interview given to a website of a men's fashion brand named Mr. Porter, Gerrard told the media, “I’ve imagined it a lot. Jamie’s knowledge of the game is superb. I know the amount of time and effort he puts into the work that he does now, also how much he loved the game when I played with him.”

The duo together represented the Merseyside club both at the youth level as well as the professional level. Both of them have appeared in over 500 league matches for Liverpool from 1998 up until 2013 when Jamie Carragher decided to hang his boots.

“I think we’ll both work for the club again at some point during the rest of our lives. When that will be, I don’t know. Will that be together? I’m not sure. When I retire from football I am going to be available for people to offer me roles if they feel I’m one of the candidates. Would I go for another role in the game if any offers (from Liverpool) didn’t come my way? Yeah I would,” he added.

While Steven Gerrard still has another eight months left in his contract with the LA Galaxy, the former Liverpool midfielder would surely jump into it if given an opportunity to work with Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp during the course of his time at Anfield. Having said that, Gerrard is reportedly still a bit confused about whether he's going to play another season somewhere else before finally shifting his focus on coaching.

“Physically I could play in the MLS for this season and next, 100 percent for sure. Am I going to do that? Do I want to do that? Am I going to be offered the chance to do that? I don’t know, we’ll have to wait and see,” Gerrard told Mr. Porter.

The former Liverpool number eight concluded his interview by saying, “I’m at a little bit at a crossroads at the moment, what to do, whether to call it a day at the end of the season, or whether maybe to do one more, but we’ll have to wait and see.”
