Liverpool will need to fork out £12 million if they want to sign Argentina international Marcos Rojo, reports Talksport.

The Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is keen to sign the Sporting Lisbon left-back after struggling in his attempts to add Sevilla’s Spain international Alberto Moreno to his squad.

Rojo is also able to play in the middle of defence, somewhere Liverpool struggled for solidity last season. He is currently on duty at the World Cup, and has previously suggested that he is keen to join Barcelona, who are also believed to be interested.

Despite Sporting believing that they are going to struggle to keep Rojo this summer, they are yet to receive an offer that meets their minimum asking price of £12 million.

Rojo’s ownership rights are also held, in part, by a third-party sporting vehicle, meaning that the Portuguese club are keen to extract maximum value from a player who is catching the eye of many top clubs.
